Credo Music welcomes Henry Peyrebrune as its first Executive Director. Appointed by the Board of Directors effective July 17, 2017, he joins Founder and Artistic Director Peter Slowik to lead Credo in its next phase of growth. Mr. Peyrebrune has been a bassist in The Cleveland Orchestra since 1997 – a position he will retain. From 2014 – 2017, he also worked as a gift officer on the Orchestra’s Philanthropy & Advancement team.

“Henry comes uniquely qualified to further Credo Music’s influence on the next generation of musical leaders,” says Board Chair, Jerry B. Daniel. “His background as a musician, educator, fundraiser and non-profit leader make him an ideal fit for the Credo team as we approach our twentieth season.”

“This makes me really, really happy,” says Credo Founder and Artistic Director, Peter Slowik. “I’m excited to welcome Henry’s creative leadership to further our mission: Develop the Gift – Acknowledge the Source – and Respond with Service.”

“I look forward to a great partnership with Peter to advance the great work Credo has been doing over the past eighteen years. Credo has been an important part of my family’s musical life, and I’m excited to be on the team.” said Peyrebrune.

Henry Peyrebrune holds a Bachelor of Music degree from New England Conservatory. Prior to joining The Cleveland Orchestra in 1997, he was principal bass of the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, ON, and previously an active free-lance musician in Boston and New England. He served on the faculty of the Baldwin-Wallace University Conservatory for eighteen years. As a fundraiser for The Cleveland Orchestra for more than three years, he was responsible for major gifts from individual donors. He has been President of NoteWorthy Federal Credit Union for ten years, and also sits on the boards of the League of American Orchestras, and The Lyceum.
