Going to Credo - a post from new Executive Director Henry Peyrebrune

In the spring of 2009, my wife Tracy Rowell and I were worrying about whether to send our eldest daughter, Helen, to music camp. It was clear that she was ready, but we hesitated because… well -because we had been to music camp ourselves and knew that, while the musical learning was vital, the extra-musical learning is not always what we want for our kids. So, I was really glad to have met Credo students in the previous couple of summers when they came to Blossom for Cleveland Orchestra concerts and picnic with some the Orchestra’s Christian musicians.

They made a great impression on me, and I realized that I wanted my kids to be part of a group with kids like these. The effect on Helen, and then a few years later, on Claire, also made a great impression. It was pivotal to their understanding of music’s place in their lives, and in reinforcing their faith and giving them examples of how to live as Christian musicians.

So, I’m delighted to be joining the Credo team as its first Executive Director. P-Slo has been FounderArtisticDirectorBoardChairPresidentExecutiveDirectorFieldMarshal for 19 years now, and it’s time for him to be able to share the burden. Credo is a great organization, and one that I believe in, and I’m looking forward to working in partnership with Peter and the board to help Credo grow and thrive well into the future.
