ABOUT CREDO CLUB

IMG_5002.jpg

For nearly 25 years, the Credo Festival has nourished exceptionally talented string players, helping them achieve artistic and personal success. Our alumni say “Credo is not a festival, but a way of life!” In late 2020, we took advantage of online meetings to offer its special amalgam of music, faith, and service throughout the year – for FREE!

Credo Club is a year-round program that encourages string students and adults to grow musically, connect with others, and to share their gifts in their own communities. Credo Club is generating a support and encouragement network for families who value classical music, faith, and serving others.

We address each aspect of the Credo Mission – Develop the Gift, Acknowledge the Source, Respond in Service – through the following means:

OUR MISSION

Credo Club is a reflection of the Credo mission.

Develop the Gift

You’re here because you are a fine developing musician. Come attend all of the free Master Classes this winter! Also check out the YouTube channel. There you will find Technique Videos, thought-provoking topic examination with Peter Slowik in A More Excellent Way, and favorite moments in recorded music in Listening Corner.

Acknowledge the Source

The Credo experience goes well beyond technical development by nurturing, challenging, and encouraging the whole person. We support and connect with young musicians on their journey to discover what it means to be both a musician and a person whose life reflects faith values. In our “Whatever is...” Video Series (see Philippians 4:8), Credo faculty and alumni share life experiences or particular passages of the Bible that are sources of encouragement to them. During our Zoom Fireside Chats, members of Credo Club get to see how professional musicians integrate their art and family life — and how their faith helps them keep everything in balance.

Respond with Service

Credo Club is catalytic in helping students Respond with Service, both musical and physical, within their own communities. Credo students volunteer at local non-profit organizations and perform for those who do not have access to the arts — in hospices, assisted living facilities, prisons, low-income housing projects, and inner-city youth centers. Through these projects, we are able to give back to our communities and realize our shared humanity with those around us. Please consider following our monthly prompts for service and letting us know what you did by submitting this form.
